As you go around a bend on Hamburg Road, if you look carefully, you’ll see two of the fire-breathing dragons. What they really are is two examples of the beautiful work of artist M. Lou
M. Lou and Earl are a team that came from from Long Island. They have been here in our midst for around 27 years. As you drive up to their studio/workshop your eyes will be drawn away from the roadway by the intricately beautiful outdoor sculpture that is on display. Just when you think you’ve probably seen the best that they have to offer, you are greeted by M. Lou. You step into their world of Art. Sparkling stained glass, Oils and Acrylics, wonderful Statues and Sculptures. Paintings that looked so real that you wish you could touch them, adorn the walls. Life itself screams up at you from the painting of a man trapped in a the bottle of booze.
Three-dimensional Art work is M. Lou and Earl’s special gift. Pieces of wood applied to their surfaces are put together to imitate life. A 4-1/2 foot water lily is a circle framed in mahogany. Other flowers are captured as well. The good thing about all of this is that their Art/Studio gallery is one of our own.
It is one of those places that you can go in search of an extra special gift or something for your own decor as pictured here.
Set within the verdant and majestic Smoky Mountains is Stresing Art, a place where art thrives. After setting in Western North Carolina 27 years ago M. Lou and Earl Stresing have realized a complete vision of art. It literally surrounds you: outdoor sculpture, stained glass, oils and acrylics, sculpture and furniture. Stresing Art may be tucked away in a far corner of the Smokies but their vision is universal.
